A Writer’s Bolthole

Manuscripts also offers a retreat for writers and academics in the idyllic harbour village of Falsled on southern Funen. The retreat is neighbour to one of the finest restaurants in the world, Falsled Kro, but a more modest cuisine is available at the retreat and visitors are also welcome to cater for themselves.
The accommodation is in one of Funen’s finest old timber-frame ‘skipper’ houses dating from 1800, which has been restored and furnished as far as possible in the style of its time. A large garden provides space to think and read when weather permits. The fishing harbour is 200 metres and there are many fine walks along the shoreline and past the nature reserve or out through the neighbouring woods. The delightful town of Faaborg is 10 km to the south.
